The Back-Country section of Greenwich is largely wooded and encompasses the north sections of the community located north of the Merritt Parkway. The zoning in this area typically is RA-4 (four-acre) or RAC-4 (four-acre conservation), the exception of the 1,400 acre Conyers Farm Association private neighborhood which has self imposed minimum 10-acre zoning, equestrian facilities and the world renowned polo field. Back-Country is 12 minutes to less than 15 minutes from downtown, but only five minutes to eight minutes from the Merritt Parkway. In the Banksville section tof Back-Country there is the Banksville Shopping Center offering several local shops, a bank and the Grand Slam Tennis facility next door. On the western side of Back-Country, Armonk, New York is only minutes away as is the Westchester County Airport.
