The Old Greenwich area encompasses Greenwich’s easternmost area running north and south to intersect with Riverside, Stamford and the Old Greenwich waterfront. Old Greenwich has two basic geographic areas, known as South-of-the-Village and North-of-the-Village. Zoning in Old Greenwich can range from quite dense single-family neighborhoods and parcels in the middle and northern sections of the area and larger one acre single-family properties near the waterfront in the southern end and Hillcrest Park in the northern region (with some exceptions). There are a few private association neighborhoods in Old Greenwich with Hillcrest Park located North-of-the-Village while South-of-the-Village there are several private association areas, among them are: Binney Lane, Lucas Point, the Ledge Road, Sylvan Lane, Rocky Point, Meadowbank, Ford Lane and Shorelands. The main shopping village of Old Greenwich with local stores, coffee shops, delis, banks, restaurants, dry cleaners and more is no more than 10 minutes from any home. Equally convenient is the Old Greenwich train station for commuters. In 2013 104 single-family homes were sold according to Greenwich MLS statistics (Closed: 1/1/2013 through 12/31/13).
