The Riverside Area abuts the west side of Old Greenwich and the east side of Cos Cob. It runs north and south, beginning on the eastern shore of the Mianus River and runs north to intersects with Cos Cob, easterly to Binney Park (Old Greenwich) and the intersects of western Riverside Avenue and West End Avenue. Geographically it is approximately four square miles. Riverside has several private association areas, among them are: Dogwood Park, Gillam Lane, Harbor Point, Riverside Park and Willowmere. Except Dogwood Park, all associations are south of East Putnam Avenue. Some feature beach or waterfront access rights. Shopping, I-95 and the train are no more than five to 10 minutes from any Riverside home. Riverside does not have a shopping village like other area of town but does have the very nice Riverside Shopping Center, with several restaurants, a super market, CVS and a liquor/wine store.
