The Old Greenwich encompasses Greenwich’s easternmost area running north and south to intersect with Riverside, Stamford and the Old Greenwich waterfront. Old Greenwich has two basic geographic areas, known as South-of-the-Village and North-of-the-Village with South-of-the-Village being the area closest to the waterfront and Greenwich's Town beach known as Greenwich Point. Rental homes are popular in both these Northern and Southern areas with property sizes (land) being the largest (per fgeneral zoning) either closer to the waterfront or the Northern-most private association area of Old Greenwich being Hillcrest Park. Apartment rentals do exist above some of the Sound Beach Avenue stores as well in some single-family neighborhoods, though they can be rare. Approximately 350 condominium units exist in five complexes in the Old Greenwich area, with the largest single complex being the Old Greenwich Gables being located just North of the Old Greenwich Train Station and the shopping village. Shopping is possible in Old Greenwich's local stores, coffee shops, delis, banks, restaurants, King's supermarket, dry cleaners and more, while a secondary shopping center is found not far away in the Riverside Shopping Center.
